Projects in the Gulf of Guinea are of special interest to LUKOIL Overseas, as they significantly diversify the business by reinforcing and developing the Company’s position in the world’s richest oil and gas region CI-205 Block In July 2006 and April 2007, LUKOIL Overseas acquired shares in four offshore projects in Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire. All areas are located in the deepwater part of the Gulf of Guinea and are geologically confined to the Tano oil and gas basin, where a number of large fields have been discovered.
